Boon Dee Moo Ka Ta | Thai BBQ | Queens

I recently attended a Yelp Elite event at Boon Dee Moo Ka Ta in Flushing, and it was a fun way to kick off the new year with fellow Elites. The experience stood out immediately because this spot offers both Thai BBQ and hot pot, which is a refreshing change from the Korean BBQ flavors I’m more accustomed to.

This wasn’t my first BBQ or hot pot experience, so I came in knowing how these setups usually work. That said, when everyone headed to the buffet at the same time and I realized I’d be sharing the grill with four other people, it felt a bit chaotic at first. Once everyone found their rhythm and the cooking got underway, things flowed much more smoothly.

The buffet is well-stocked with a wide variety of options, including plenty of meats (especially standout pork selections), seafood, rice, noodles, and vegetables. Everything we cooked was flavorful and satisfying, and the quality held up throughout the meal.

The space itself has a casual, comfortable vibe that works well for solo dining or larger groups. Service was attentive and consistent, and we were able to sample several desserts. The shaved ice and chocolate cake were my personal favorites and a great way to end the meal.

At $40 per person, Boon Dee Moo Ka Ta offers solid value for the amount of food, variety, and interactive dining experience. It’s a come-hungry, come-with-your-patience, come-with-your-people kind of spot. If you’re looking to try something different from your usual KBBQ rotation, this Thai BBQ and hot pot experience is definitely worth checking out.
