This was my first time trying Egyptian cuisine, and Al Bait Baitak Restaurant & Hookah Lounge in Brooklyn made a great first impression. The overall vibe is chill and welcoming, and the menu offers a nice balance of Egyptian dishes alongside familiar American options, which makes it approachable whether you’re exploring something new or dining with a mixed group.
The food really delivered. The mixed grill was the standout for me (I inhaled the lamb). The wings were properly crispy with solid flavor, and I was especially impressed by the Hawashi, an Egyptian street food that quickly became my favorite part of the meal.
We also ordered mocktails, which were well made and refreshing, and the milk tea deserves a special mention as it was phenomenal and easily one of the best I’ve had.
After dinner, we spent time in the lounge area playing cards and enjoying hookah. I went with the pineapple mango flavor, which was smooth and a perfect way to wind down the night.
Overall, this spot is a full vibe: good food, relaxed energy, solid drinks, and a lounge experience that encourages you to stay awhile. I’d definitely come back.
